Veterinarian & Medical Director

Dr. Harry Cozens

MA (Cantab), VetMB, MRCVS, DVM

Dr Cozens was raised in both the south-west of England and Nepal and from a young age pursued his passion for animal care. He was accepted and trained at the University of Cambridge, where he gained an outstanding veterinary education and particularly excelled in the fields of small animal medicine and surgery for which he was awarded a special merit upon graduation. Whilst attending Cambridge, Harry enjoyed all that the University had to offer and emerged as a consistent leader including captaining the University Rugby League team and being awarded a ‘Cambridge Blue’.

Upon graduation, Harry moved to Canada pursuing adventure and enjoying the opportunity to grow professionally. He joined a busy practice in Lethbridge, Alberta with a strong focus on emergency and on-call medicine in which he thrived. He was promoted to medical director of the small animal division and spent some years training up veterinarians, managing a team and improving the service and quality of veterinary medicine within the clinic. After starting a family, Harry moved to a second hospital in Lethbridge where he continued to hone his clinical skills and nurture an increasing passion for veterinary surgery and emergency medicine.

In 2021, Harry relocated to North Vancouver, strongly equipped to lead the team at Mountainside and continue to pursue excellence in veterinary care. He is passionate about creating a positive culture and ensuring that the incredible Mountainside team is working hard to serve the North Shore with excellence. He loves to teach and treats each interaction with staff, clients and pets with great care and intentionality.

Outside of the hospital Harry enjoys spending time with his family and is the father to two incredible young kids. He would most likely be found exploring the north shore with his family, and loves to be in the mountains whether hiking, running, cycling, snowboarding, snowshoeing or camping. When not in the great outdoors he enjoys reading (mostly Dickens) and great coffee.
