Dr. Clare Peterson was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She graduated from UBC in 2007 with a BSc in Animal Biology before venturing to begin her studies in Veterinary Science in Australia. Clare fell in love with the fast pace of emergency medicine while working at a busy ER during Vet School.

When she graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013 she immediately took an internship at The Animal Emergency Service where she spent another 6 years practicing Emergency Medicine. During this time Clare studied for and was awarded a Membership in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine from the Australia and New Zealand College of Veterinary Medicine. Clare made the trek back to Vancouver in 2019 and still loves the fast pace of emergency medicine and helping owners and their fur kids in their time of need.

Outside of work, Clare loves a good book, snowboarding, Pilates, martial arts, and spending time with her young family, including her two fur kids Tate (a crazy Kelpie X Staffy) and Wally (a lazy Wolfhound X Lab).
