Mountainside 24/7 Animal Emergency

March 2024: Meeka

 A Doberman named Meeka

When her owner approached, he noticed a deep cut on her chest. Her owner applied pressure and brought her straight to Mountainside for urgent care. The wound was significant, so Meeka was sedated and the 12 cm laceration was shaved, flushed, and carefully sutured. X-rays revealed a mild pleural effusion, necessitating a follow-up visit the next day, where Meeka was given the all clear! After lots of rest and moderated activity, Meeka recovered well. She is now back to racing through the trails, this time sporting her fancy new chest protector vest. We’re so glad we could be there for Meeka in her time of need.
