Mountainside 24/7 Animal Emergency

Case Highlight: Minnie

Black Cat named Minnie

Sweet Minnie faced a serious situation after ingesting Lysol detergent that was accidentally spilled on her coat. She was hospitalized, already showing symptoms such as lethargy, raspy breathing, and hypersalivation. Working closely with the pet poison hotline, we knew the risks were high, including potential GI ulceration and sepsis. Despite developing ulcers on her tongue and esophagus, Minnie’s resilience shone through. With a feeding tube providing the nutrition she needed, and an intensive treatment plan including gastroprotective meds, she started eating on her own. After a few intense days of care, she fully recovered and was able to go home. Minnie is now back to her happy self, enjoying life with her brother Albus.
